When Vaginal or Pelvic Symptoms are
Affecting Your Daily Life

Vaginal and genitourinary symptoms can be uncomfortable, frustrating and deeply distressing. Many women struggle for months or years, often feeling unheard or too embarrassed to seek help.

Common symptoms I support include:

  • recurrent thrush

  • bacterial vaginosis (BV)

  • recurrent or chronic UTIs

  • ongoing changes to discharge

  • itching, burning or irritation

  • pain during intercourse

  • vulvodynia (vulvar burning, stinging or pain)

  • vaginismus (pelvic floor spasm and pain with penetration)

  • vaginal dryness or discomfort

  • genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM)

  • pelvic discomfort or pressure

  • pelvic floor tension linked to stress or pain conditions

  • symptoms that don’t resolve even after repeated treatments

These symptoms are real and significant and they deserve thorough, compassionate support regardless of whether you have a formal diagnosis or not.

Why Vaginal and Urinary Symptoms Happen

These symptoms often involve a combination of factors, including:

  • Vaginal microbiome imbalances

  • Recent antibiotic or medication use

  • Pelvic floor tension

  • Hormonal changes (cycle-related, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause)

  • Immune function and inflammation

  • Gut–vaginal microbiome interactions

  • Sexual health and partner factors

  • Skin sensitivity or contact reactions

  • Underlying pelvic pain syndromes

  • Stress and nervous system involvement

  • Structural or functional changes post-childbirth

Understanding the root drivers helps us create targeted, effective treatments that help to resolve your symptoms for good.

My Approach to Genitourinary & Intimate Health

A Safe, Respectful and Validating space

These symptoms can be emotionally complex and some women find them difficult to talk about. This is a space where you can talk openly, without judgement or minimisation.

Supporting Pelvic Health

Vaginismus, vulvodynia and pain with intercourse often involve pelvic floor tension. We work gently, in collaboration with pelvic floor physiotherapists where appropriate.

Collaboration with your Medical Team

Many women are also working with GPs, gynaecologists, pain specialists or pelvic floor physios. Naturopathy fits alongside medical care, not instead of it.

Restoring Microbiome Balance & Treat Infections

We focus on what supports a healthy vaginal environment, including targeted probiotics, diet, lifestyle and other factors.

Chronic infections need more than repeated medications. We look at underlying patterns, triggers and preventive strategies.

Addressing Hormones & the Nervous System

Changes in oestrogen and progesterone can affect vaginal health, especially postpartum, perimenopause and menopause. The vagus nerve, stress and pain pathways also play a role, so we look at you as a whole person.

Functional Testing when Helpful

Vaginal microbiome sequencing or other investigations may offer clarity. We'll discuss your options if I think they'd be helpful.
