Welcome. I'm Gemma Knaap, naturopath and founder of Southernwood Apothecary and Clinic.

Too often, following generic diet or lifestyle advice just isn't enough. You've probably tried that already, and it just hasn't given you the relief and vitality you are looking for. With so much information out there, so many experts just a click away, how do you even begin to sort through all the noise? Perhaps you feel like you've tried everything or you've been told there's nothing more you can do. Maybe all your tests have come back normal but you can't remember the last time you felt like yourself.

I hold a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy and have a special interest in herbal medicine and supporting people at all ages and stages to overcome their health challenges.

I am a certified Natural Fertility Educator, experienced helping couples struggling with unexplained infertility or recurrent miscarriage. Alternatively, if you'd like to learn how to chart your cycle to avoid pregnancy, I can teach you this too!

I have completed specialised training in the natural management of complex genitourinary diagnoses including vaginal atrophy (or genitourinary syndrome of menopause), chronic or recurrent thrush, bacterial vaginosis and other urinary, vaginal and vulval disorders. I work with you to optimise your hormones, fix your gut problems and improve your mental health.

Personalised health care is at the core of all I do. Every single person I see comes with their own story, no matter what their diagnosis or symptoms. Listening to that story, getting to the bottom of what's ailing you and tailoring treatment to your unique circumstances is exactly what I'm here to do.

So if you're ready to commit to taking a natural approach to your health

in which it grows, not the flower
